Let’s say you got a job, started a business or your single status now turned to in a relationship. Everything seems right at first but as time pass by, you’re beginning to doubt yourself, the career you have right now as well as the person you’re with. There are so many things going on in your mind and you often getting easily upset. To be genuinely happy, it’s better that you don’t settle for less than you deserve.
You may think you don’t have a choice in life but it’s just an excuse. Don’t settle for anything that you deserve because life is supposed to be a wonderful thing to experience. If you keep on questioning how things will turn out once you made a decision, there’s a huge probability that you’ll regret it someday.
1. You know your worth
When you finally see your value, typically in a relationship, is one of the reasons why you don’t settle for less than you deserve. It’s hard to pretend that you’re still happy with someone when you know you’re not anymore. A healthy relationship is being able to speak out and be honest about what you both feel even when it leads to breaking up. It’s inevitable. However, you both have to be grateful for that because you just close another chapter of your lives. It’s a sign that you didn’t give up on things that can bring you much purpose and joy in the next chapters.
The same with friends, when you know it’s no longer worthy to keep, you leave. Losing friends is much worse than breaking up with someone, especially if you’ve been friends since childhood. Yet, you don’t have to stick with people who always hurt you emotionally and mentally. When you finally see your worth, leaving them behind and moving forward without them will be easier for you to do. You’ll get hurt, yes, but don’t feel miserable for people who don’t see your importance when you’re still with them. Life is short to consume with people like that, you deserve much better than that.
2. You know what you’re capable of
You know to yourself you’re doing good with your business or career. You have a good salary and profit but when things get redundant, you begin to feel bored. When you wake up, you feel heavy and lazy to start your day. You know something isn’t right so you quit and do what truly makes you happy. It’s a courageous move and not everyone can do it. It takes a lot of bravery that’s why you should be proud of yourself. People are scared to try new things because they think it won’t work so they just stay on where they are. Remember, successful people didn’t get to where they are right now without taking chances. When you know what you’re capable of, then you’ll be fine.
When it comes to relationships, you don’t let your partner tell you what you can and can’t do. You don’t limit your capabilities and talents just because someone told you so. That kind of person has their insecurities that they can’t deal with so they’re trying to pull you into their world of misery and that’s not okay with you. You know you’re meant for greater things in life.
3. You’re strong enough to let go
People are afraid to leave the situation or person behind even if they’re already getting hurt is called martyrdom. Be fair to yourself that you have to let go when you can no longer handle the situation. You don’t settle for less than you deserve that’s why even if it’s tough for you, you choose to let them and yourself go. It may take time for you to learn how to do things on your own again, but you did it for the sake of finding the real meaning of happiness. You do it not only for yourself but for the other person’s sake too.
4. You’re not afraid to be alone
Most people are afraid to be alone so hanging around and dealing with a toxic situation or person is their last option. You don’t settle for less than you deserve that’s why being single than staying in a relationship that no longer brings you genuine joy is still the best choice for you. Others may not be as fearless as you but you know what you want and need. You don’t compromise your values for the sake of being with someone whose hobby is to hurt you emotionally and mentally. Your top priority is your well-being so you’ll be ready for the right person that’s coming.
5. You no longer compare yourself to others
Comparing yourself, your partner and even your relationship to others will only bring you sleepless nights and insecurities. You’re beginning to compromise your self-worth and it’s not good. You don’t settle for less than you deserve because you know now that it’s what keeps you sane. In this world full of people who don’t know the meaning of contentment, be the ones who will open their minds about its value in life. So what if you’re still single? As long as you’re contented with everything going around you, you know you’ll be okay.
